Shortly after our beloved Australian Shepherd, Kira, crossed over and resumed her role as Master of Transmutation, she guided me to the local Animal Shelter. In the back of the building, in the last cage, I found a very sick but obviously "loving" Gordon Setter/Australian Shepherd mix, which Steve and I later named "Koda" ("Friend" in Lakota Sioux). Koda was scheduled to be euthanized the very next day because she had developed "kennel cough" which turned into bronchial pneumonia. Her little eyes were watering and looked very sad, but her tail was always wagging. I fell in love with Koda at first sight, and knew that she was very special. I rescued her from the shelter and took her home, where Steve, Sybil (a good friend and extraordinary Vet) and I nursed Koda back to health. Koda had been abandoned as a puppy. We were not sure how old she was when we rescued her, but Sybil's best guess was that she was about 7 months old. And, so, we assigned the birth date of July 22, 1998 to Koda. It was obvious from the very first Gathering we held in our home since Koda's recovery that she was destined to be the Mascot for our Heart Lights Ministry. She assigned herself the role of "Official Greeter" when people arrived and always peeked out the front door to make sure the "coast was clear" when people left.
Koda loved our Ascension Quests
and Heart Lights Retreats at Mt. Shasta. She was proud to be a
"Seeing Heart Dog" (she could "see" into the hearts of those she met and
instinctively knew how to heal them with Love). But it didn't take
long for her to get "hooked on" receiving Reiki from all of the
healers present. Koda is our "Poster Girl" for HLM's "Seeing Heart Dog" Foundation.
Although we haven't quite yet gotten our Seeing Heart Dog Foundation "up and running," Koda does go to Hospitals, Convalescent Homes and Orphanages to bring Love and Healing to those open to receive. She also makes it a point to
bring Love and Healing to all those she meets,
And, she loves to work with Francis of Assisi in bringing Love and Healing to the Animals of Earth.
Here are a few more photos of
Koda. I have some of her playing in the snow in our new home near
Mt. Shasta. SO . . . IF YOU LOVE KODA, PLEASE COME BACK SOON FOR MORE PICS ALSO . . . IF ANY OF YOU HAVE
PICTURES OF YOURSELF WITH KODA, Here's a recent picture of Koda
