REIKI ORGANIZATIONS Many organizations have been formed since Reiki was introduced to the United States. They all have their own philosophies and purposes for organization.
THE REIKI ALLIANCE The Reiki Alliance, which was formed in 1983, is a support group for Reiki Masters. While it suggests that its members follow a set of guidelines and teach the Usui system, not all of its members do so. The Reiki Alliance is the group responsible for the $10,000 Reiki Master fee. However, I believe that as we continue to raise our vibrations through enlightenment and being "in loving service," many Reiki Masters will eventually come to understand, as we do, that Reiki is a highly respected form of Holistic Healing, and the high price to receive Reiki Mastership is no longer necessary. REIKI TOUCH MASTER'S FOUNDATION, INC. Another Reiki organization called Reiki Touch Master's Foundation, Inc., was also founded to be a support organization for Reiki Masters. REIKI OUTREACH INTERNATIONAL Reiki Outreach International was founded in 1990 by Mary A. McFadyen and is open to all Reiki Practitioners. Its purpose is to create a world-wide network of Reiki Practitioners who will direct the healing power of Reiki every day (or as often as possible) to specific world situations and crises. THE RADIANCE TECHNIQUE ASSOCIATION There is another organization called The Radiance Technique Association International, Inc. which is located at 4 Embarcadero Center, Suite 5123, San Francisco, CA 94111. I am not familiar with this group, but I am sure if you write to them, they will be more than happy to give you more information.
The Reiki Connection is similar to Reiki Outreach International in that it is open to ALL Reiki Practitioners. I founded the Reiki Connection in December 1993 for the purpose of joining all Reiki Practitioners in our area who have dedicated their lives to healing themselves, others, the planet, its flora and fauna. We meet once a month to give each other Reiki and send out distance healing to specific situations. In addition, we ask all our members to endeavor to live up to the Reiki Principles, promote awareness of this wonderful healing energy and set aside 15 minutes each day to send distance healing to whatever causes are appropriate at the time. Our Reiki Connection gatherings are filled with love and compassion. We leave all egos behind and, while giving each other Reiki, openly share our experiences and new techniques that we have been guided to use while giving Reiki. Each of us is unique, and it is really wonderful to see and experience the energy that is created by this very special group of healers and teachers.
