The Sounds of Nirih have been friends for over 30 years.
Maya and Niteowl
performed with a 5-piece show band throughout the United
States and
Canada for about 10 years before Maya met Yanah and Niteowl
met Pyasia.
As The Sounds of Nirih, Maya, Yanah, Niteowl and Pyasia performed in
local nightclubs for about 10 years. Then Maya chose to retire as an
entertainer and focus on her Spiritual Path. Even though they were
not performing professionally,
they managed to get together once in a while to make music.
Maya has written over 200 poems and
songs, including The Mawuvia Suite (co-written with Nirih). Niteowl
has his own recording studio where he creates big band arrangements
as well as orchestral arrangements for Maya's music.
Niteowl also plays Bass Trombone and Trombone with the
Summerset Big Band.
